Joint Audit Committee

The Joint Audit Committee provides an independent check on the governance arrangements for the Commissioner and Chief Constable. 

The Committee meets quarterly to consider financial and non-financial performance where there could be a risk to the organisation, as well as dealing with all matters on internal audit.


The five members were appointed after public advertisement.

Joint Audit Committee Membership Role Profile

Appointments are made for a five-year term, with a maximum limit of 10 years.

An allowance, currently £211.50 per day, or £104.50 per half day is payable, along with travelling expenses of 45p per mile. Reading time is not payable.
