The Police and Crime Commissioner is subject to scrutiny by a Police and Crime Panel, which provides checks and balances in relation to the performance of the Commissioner and will be supporting the Commissioner in the manner of a critical friend.
It should be pointed out that the Police and Crime Panel scrutinises the Commissioner and not the Police force. It is the role of the Commissioner to scrutinise the Police. The Panel's role is to scrutinise the performance of the Commissioner and to ensure transparency.
The Panel meeting is held at the Orbit Business Centre, Merthyr Tydfil, CF48 1DL and begins at 10:30am*
